Two cartridges say “sanitary”. Which one suits my joint?
Start with the two edges you are joining. A bead between glazed tiles and a seam between marble and a basin can look identical yet need different sealants.

Read the intended use
Check the approved surfaces, water exposure, movement and primer requirements on the data sheet. “Sanitary” does not guarantee compatibility with porous stone or every plastic.
Where the detail calls for sanitary silicone on two compatible surfaces, consider OTTOSEAL S100. Porous stone needs a stone-compatible product.
Compare like with like
For marble, choose a stone-compatible product and try the finish on an offcut with an approved tooling agent. Compare prices only between cartridges suitable for the same joint. Even an expensive sealant will pull away from a loose basin.
If one edge is marble or natural stone, trial OTTOSEAL S70 on an offcut and check the tooling agent before touching the visible surface.
Dry-fit the FUGENFUX profiling tool. Choose the edge that meets both sides without scooping out the middle, then tool the bead before a skin forms.
What to take to the shop
Photograph both edges. Note whether the joint is vertical, gets wet daily and needs to move. Check those points on each sheet. If neither sheet names your surface, ask about compatibility before choosing a colour.
Before opening the cartridge, try the Presch silicone gun in the tightest corner. Check you can turn your wrist and release pressure at the end of the run.
Tools and materials for this job

OTTOSEAL S100
Sanitary silicone for compatible surfaces. Check both edges before opening the cartridge.

OTTOSEAL S70
For compatible natural stone. Test colour and finish on an offcut.

FUGENFUX
Profiling tool. Dry-fit the edge that reaches both sides of the joint.

Presch silicone gun
Manual cartridge gun. Check you can release pressure in the last centimetre.
Can I use leftover shower silicone on a marble worktop?
Only if that exact product is approved for the stone and application. A colour sample cannot establish compatibility.
