The property survey mentions defective silicone. What should you ask?
Ask to see the exact stretch. An uneven bead, a detached edge and damp in the next room are three different observations.

Get an identified photo
Photograph the whole area and detail. Ask what was observed directly, whether moisture was measured, when and which areas were inaccessible. Distinguish an estimate for replacing sealant from investigation below the tiles.
Keep the record before work starts
If you already bought the property, keep the listing, report, correspondence and photos. Limit active water damage. For seller obligations or time limits, take the file to a local professional. The joint’s appearance alone does not assign responsibility.
Ask in writing
Quote the report page and ask whether a gap was seen or moisture measured outside the shower. Request the inspection limits. A specific reply helps you decide whether maintenance is enough or further investigation is needed before purchase.
What if the report just says “poor sealing”?
Request an identified photo, exact location, observed defect and what remains to be checked. Then compare quotes for the same scope.
