How to compare sealant quotes priced by the metre
Two bathrooms with the same joint length can take different amounts of work. Measure each run and photograph corners, access and old material.

Ask what the price includes
Separate removal, preparation, product, application and downtime. An open straight run is different from the space behind a tap. Ask what happens if a loose edge appears when old material comes out.
Dry-fit the FUGENFUX profiling tool. Choose the edge that meets both sides without scooping out the middle, then tool the bead before a skin forms.
Compare with doing it yourself
Include the cartridge, gun, consumables and time without the shower. If a quote just says “white silicone”, ask for the reference and intended use. Metres alone do not tell you the quality or final price.
Before opening the cartridge, try the Presch silicone gun in the tightest corner. Check you can turn your wrist and release pressure at the end of the run.
Measure the awkward stretch
One metre behind a mixer may need a small tool or temporary disassembly. Photograph the available space and ask whether removal and refitting are included. Compare exclusions before comparing unit prices.
Tools and materials for this job

Manual cartridge gun. Check you can release pressure in the last centimetre.

FUGENFUX
Profiling tool. Dry-fit the edge that reaches both sides of the joint.
Which photos help compare two offers?
Take an overview, both ends and the tightest access point. Include a scale without covering the edges.
